About us

Smart Engineering and Production – brief outline

Who are we? We are your number one contact for increasing efficiency and productivity in control cabinet building. Benefit from the combined expertise of three technology leaders.

  • Eplan (engineering software)

  • Rittal (control cabinet system technology)

  • Phoenix Contact (electrical and automation technology)

Shaping the future together?

Our work aims to prepare you – the players in control cabinet building – for the future in the best possible way. How? We ensure that you always have the latest technologies for end-to-end digitalization and automation at hand.

Think about tomorrow today: What will control cabinet building look like in 2030? What technologies will be used then, what technologies are already available today, firstly to prepare for the future and secondly to gain competitive advantages in the here and now? These are questions that concern the SEAP cooperation – and which we answer in a specific and practical way.

As part of our work together, we always keep an eye on the practice of control cabinet builders as well as those using machines and systems in automation technology. We continuously exchange ideas with shared customers. After all, everyone should benefit from labor-saving devices, innovations, and new technological approaches.

This work is made easier by an open and standardized data model that corresponds to the real control cabinet at all times in terms of a digital twin. The data model of the administration shell underpins everything and we are actively helping to shape its implementation and further development.

Specifically, the Smart Engineering and Production (SEAP) initiative uses the latest tools and future-oriented standards such as AutomationML, ECLASS Advanced, and the concept of the administration shell. The digital nameplate also plays a role in this context. To consistently standardize control cabinet building, all tools are connected and networked. The software solutions from our portfolio (e.g., EPLAN Electric P8 and clipx ENGINEER) are also networked.

We are happy to share with our dialog partners throughout the industry the solutions we have tested and the knowledge we have garnered: in committee and association work, at trade fairs and congresses, but especially when sharing knowledge with you, our customers, and – most importantly – in individual consultation. Together, we are shaping the future of control cabinet building across company boundaries.

Join us on our journey into the future!

If you are just as interested in competitiveness and process optimization in control and switchgear manufacturing as we are, then come and talk to us. We will be happy to advise you and look forward to sharing ideas with you.
